2013 911 GT3 Cup Released at “Night of Champions”
Porsche has released their all new 2013 911 GT3 Cup at the “Night of Champions” event this weekend. The competition racecar model is based directly on the 2013 911 GT3.
The upgrades the Cup model received on the exterior is a custom body kit. It received a new front bumper with a carbon fiber splitter, a large rear wing and new center dual exhaust pipes poking out the rear.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a true race car cockpit on the inside. The driver can expect very little for weight reduction. It comes with a flat bottomed steering wheel and an angled center stack. There is a set of new racing seats and a roof “rescue hatch” to release the roof in case of a high speed crash that you hope never happens.
Under the hood of the 911 GT3 Cup is Porsches 3.8 liter flat six engine that has an output of 460hp (338 kW), 10hp more than the last Cup version.
”The new 911 GT3 Cup is much easier to drive at the limit. The car is excellently balanced. The new axle geometry is enormously positive for the handling. Apart from that, the new Cup 911 is great fun to drive”, said Timo Berhard, Porsche works driver.
So what does the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cost? 181,200 Euros and remember that it will only compete in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup this year.
